In the Admin > Settings you will find a backup tool. To get to the Backup window follow these steps:
    1. Click on the Admin icon top/left
    2. Click on the Settings tab along the top
    3. Select the "Backup Settings" menu option
    1 Admin Button.jpg 2 Settings Tab.jpg 3 Backup Settings.png

The backup itself is an email that will attach a zipped file that contains:
    1. Your Bookmarks
    2. Your Verse Notes
The zipped file is called "restore-user.zip".

By default the app will remind you every 7 days to perform a backup - i.e. to send an email to yourself with the backup data attached. You can change the frequency in Admin > Settings > Backup Settings. Or you can disable the backup reminders altogether.

For convenience the settings include the option of storing your email address, so that you don't need to type in your email address every time the backup runs.

So ... how do I restore my data?

    Please follow these steps:
    1. Go into your archived emails and locate your last backup email
    2. Open the email, and click on the "restore-backup.zip" attachment
    3. Click the button top/right to send the attachment to other apps
    4. Choose the Equipd Bible app - look for the black app icon
    5. You will be switched to the Equipd Bible app, and you should see a confirmation that the data was restored
That's it! Please see the attached screenshots for examples of the screens involved.

    1 Open backup email.png 2 Click the button.png 3 Open in Equipd Bible app.png 4 Import complete.png

    Useful Tip:

While this app does not yet include any automatic synchronisation of data, you can use the Backup feature to send the Bookmarks and Verse Notes from one device to another device. For example, I have found myself using my iPhone 6 Plus as my primary Bible reading device as it is always on me - so I often email a current backup to my iPad and restore the backup there to pull in the Notes and Bookmarks I have been making on my iPhone.

What email client / app are you using Linda? How did you generate the backup email? Does the rest of the email look the same as above - just no backup zip file attached?

Ok so the email looks the same - that is a good start. Sure a screenshot could help. When you see the email getting generated (before you hit send) do you see the ZIP file being attached to the email? What is the email app you are using to view the email once it arrives? Have you tried the standard Mail app on your device?

I've been using lately the spark app to view email. Since I didn't receive the backup I used the mail app and the backup was there, then I went to the spark app and it showed up too...that's sure strange as I've sent the backup email about 6 times and it all of a sudden decides to show up..Lin

I received a replacement iPad mini 4 today - my old iPad mini 1 was stolen - I restored my notes etc from an earlier backup email but find that the verse numbers containing my notes are no longer highlighted - the notes however appear in the column on the side - any suggestions please? Thank you

@DvD Notes are stored against a particular Bible - not just against a Verse. So - are you using the same Bible as you added the Notes against?
