    Dear friends,

I am changing the URL in he search function to research scriptures. The first one I did successfully to have the search go to the Insight index:
    http://wol.jw.org/en/wol/d/r1/lp-e/1200004776?q=%q
This will take me to the scriptural reference if that particular scripture has one in the insight volumes.
The next one I need help with. I want to go directly to the scripture index, the one that shows publications and the insight references. For example a URL that will take me to the page that shows this for a search on Genesis 3:1
    3:1 w17.02 5; it-2 867, 898, 1010-1011; w11 1/1 12; w11 5/15 16; w04 9/1 14-15; w01 7/1 19; w01 11/15 27; w96 2/1 23; w94 4/1 10; w90 10/15 30; w89 8/1 22; w86 8/1 11-12; tp 48

    Can anyone help out?

    Thanks,

    Wang Yong

    Hi Wang,

Doesn't the default Index search string already do what you want? It is more powerful than just the Insight Scripture Index. It is the full Index Scripture search.

The default search string was (in English)...
    Code:
    http://wol.jw.org/en/wol/d/r1/lp-e/12002700%bb?q=%q
The full instructions for the Web Search settings options are here: https://www.equipd.me/forums/threads/setup-the-web-search.50/

    Dear Matt,

Yes it does! Thank you, that was exactly what I wanted. I must have changed it somehow and couldn't fix it.

    Long live the Equipd Bible!

    Dear Matt,
The search index is wonderful. It searches the index of 86-18.
Could you please tell me the URL to search the 1950-1985 index?

    Thank you,
    Wang Yong

    Hi Wang,

The way to figure this out is to go to WOL and look at the URLs being used.

So if you go to WOL and to the Scripture Index 1986-2018, and to the book of Genesis, you will see the URL is:
    Code:
    https://wol.jw.org/en/wol/d/r1/lp-e/1200270001
And if you go to Exodus:
    Code:
    https://wol.jw.org/en/wol/d/r1/lp-e/1200270002
And if you go to Leviticus:
    Code:
    https://wol.jw.org/en/wol/d/r1/lp-e/1200270003
    And to Matthew:
    Code:
    https://wol.jw.org/en/wol/d/r1/lp-e/1200270040
See the pattern? So the last 2 digits are the number of the Bible book.

And inside the Web Search settings you can use various placeholders, as outlined on this page:
    https://www.equipd.me/forums/threads/setup-the-web-search.50/

One of these placeholders is ... %bb = book number padded to 2x characters (e.g. Genesis = "01")

Given that information, you should be able to figure out how to make this work for the older Scripture Index :)

The simple answer to your question is...
    Code:
    http://wol.jw.org/en/wol/d/r1/lp-e/12000200%bb?q=%q

    Dear Matt,

While reading your kind and patient answer two things came to my mind:

    1) Give a man a fish, you feed him for a day. Teach a man to fish....

    2) You must be wonderful from the platform.

    Thanks again,

    Wang Yong
